As you start to read this story, one is captured by the magnificent backdrop, wonderful characters, and ever-evolving plotline. I never knew what would happen next on the journey from Missouri to Wyoming. This book pays homage to the pioneer spirit and the undauntable faith in God that the people had in our younger history.
My only disappointment was that both leads were incredibly handsome/beautiful. The author spent too much time lauding the beauty of each main character. With so few women in the West, they didn't have to be beautiful to get married. The ratio of men to women was so off-balanced that any woman could find a husband in that day and time.
Because I read so many books of this genre, I'm always in search of unique plots (too often they are the same tried-and-true tropes). This book filled that bill very nicely. I couldn't wait to turn the pages to find out what would happen next.
