Turn-of-the-last-century historical Christmas romance. Polly & her ailing mother have fallen on hard times, with the death of her father and disappearance of her brother. She supports her mother as a typist in one of the new typwriting pools springing up in offices sporting the latest in office technology. Enter a mysterious old woman, a mysterious coin and her handsome boss. Well written with good characterizations. But then, I'm not very critical when it comes to put-your-feet-up easy reads during the hectic holiday season.
