This is a fictionalized, but historically accurate, account of the life of George Washington. The author writes in the first person of a man put to work digging up dirt on Washington. Trouble is, he can't find any. Everyone he interviews has a compelling story to tell, and all of them put Washington in a good light. Reading this book is a great way to learn about George Washington if your attention span can't handle non-fiction.

This book gives a really good insight into the life and times of the times prior to Geo. Washington's Presidency as well as how difficult it was to fight the British and become a soverigny in our own right.

A personal inside look at Washington in his pre-Presidential days during the Revolution. In all his epic books, William Martin has a talent for making history come alive.
