Something like "Sideways Stories from Wayside School", there are 9 chapters, one each about a child or a set of children in a 3rd grade class. More of a positive message than "Sideways..." stories.

My daughter and I have been using this as aread-aloud book at bedtime. We both enjoy the silliness of the stories and they each come with a little "moral". One girl in the class was having problem when a monster moves into her messy desk!

Nine stories about WT Melon Elementary where strange things happen! Roger releases a "dust genie" who grants him 3 wishes. Emily has a Messy Desk Pet move in and other great stories about kids.
