A later entry in the Hildegarde Withers series, this is not as satisfying as many of the older ones. While reading I kept thinking it was waaayy too drawn out (then I noticed it is a longer version of a story Palmer wrote called "A Valentine for the Victim.")
The setting -- a cartoon studio -- is interesting, but it does go on a bit too long (and it's less than 150 pages!), although the scene where the killer is unmasked was pretty interesting.
An okay read for fans of the series.
