Ending is confusing. Lot of side play that does not enter into the plot.

While it's hard to beat Tom Clancy for excitement, exotic locals brilliantly described, as well as multiple plot lines, some stories simply abridge better for audio than others. Random House audio did a better job with Clancy's The Bear and The Dragon. Simon and Schuster audio also did a better job with Clancy's Op-Center: Divide and Conquer. While the later two stories seem full, complete and satisfyingly tied together in abridged audio format, Cold War audio leaves the listener fully aware that they have skipped chapters.
