Nancy Jo Jenkins definitely appreciates God's creation and her writing is replete with imagery...a very "visual" read. There is depth to her characters and their prayers are a welcome inclusion into their struggles and celebrations. The main character's struggle with depression is well-written and insightful, but I found it caused the narrative to drag some in the middle. I'm glad I continued, as this Christian story develops beautifully to its conclusion.
