My first read of this Bow Street runner mystery series. Sir John is the blind magistrate, and Jeremy is his "eyes". Remniscent of Isaac of Girona (Caroline Roe's Chronicles series).

There are plots within plots, and red herrings abound, in this exciting novel. Sadly, this series has only four more volumes for me to read.
