excellent story for children about a cat that gets into dangerous situations and loses all but one of his nine lives with excellent illustrations. I got it because I love Jan bretts illustrations and I learn things about painting and drawing from looking at her illustrations.

This book was SO cute! You can't go wrong with Jan Brett's beautiful illustrations. Comet goes through alot of trials and even some of his nine lives before he finds "exactly where he wanted to live for the rest of his life."

Ages 4-8 or so.

I enjoy Jan Brett's books. However, this one was a disappointment. The pictures are interesting and give way for lots of conversation but the writing itself fell flat. The idea of the story was more interesting than the story itself. There was not the usual delight and flow in wording that I have come to expect from Brett's artistry. Comet's Nine Lives is not a book I would recommend. Another book by Jan Brett,The First Dog, is a new favorite of ours I recommend it instead.
