I'm wondering if a lot of people on here are looking for comics and graphic novels...  I have a huge box (maybe over 100) of all sort of them, in perfect condition, that I'm considering posting on here.  I have lots of Chaos comics, Transmetropolitan, Tank Girl, Dawn, horror comics, and tons more.  Just tell me what you're looking for and I'll let you know if I have it for you.  Thanks!

I bet a lot of those are already on people's wishlists (I know Transmet is on mine and I'm behind a few others). You could search "The Club Wishlist" to see what people want.

Hi, I'm new here.  I just posted 11 new manga to the group.  I'm always looking to find new manga, so let me know where I can look up your list and I will see if any of your books are in the series/sets that I'm collecting.

I have several friend who are waiting to join the site but haven't seen any comics or GN's - I think you'd get some business if you went for it!

thanks,

Whit

I'm looking to complete my Crossgen comics collection...but I need to see which ones I do and don't have first.

There are a couple comics I'd go for, I just wouldn't go searching them out, aside from Crossgen.

Grammarchick: the problem, from a PBS viewpoint, with comics/graphic novels, is that as soon as someone posts them they're GONE, and then the person who got it usually keeps it instead of posting it back into the system. :->

I have posted quite a bit of manga, but I keep a lot of it, too. I only post those series I know I won't read again.

It can be frustrating to try to snag manga here! I have had good luck buying some entire series on eBay for much less than cover price, but you have to be patient and wait for the right auction.

It helps to get on the WL for GNs/Manga ASAP. I repost a lot of my books.

The problem is lack of supply, really. The biggest categories, in terms of supply, that I've noticed on here are series mystery and romance/chick-books (I know there's a difference between those two, but i don't read 'em, so I don't know precisely what it is). I think this tendency is due largely to two factors: there are a LOT of those sorts of books circulating in the used book market, and most folks who *get* them from PBS *repost* them after they're done reading them.

A lot of people will hit Friend of Library sales and pick up bargains to post -- but almost never are manga available that way. So the only way graphic novels or manga end up on the site is from people who read them ... and we keep most of what we have. :-> I found some dupes and some series I'm not interested in keeping anymore, in my last basement cleanout, and every single one of the thirty GNs were requested within a week. Most of the titles *still* have wishlists for them, months later -- which tells me probably the people I sent them to have added them to a permanent collection instead of reposting.

The demand is there, but the supply is lacking.

Almost my entire wishlist is Manga, and it's the same with another book site I use (Though it has an unlimited wishlit, so I like it better, books that won't fit on my WL here have to go on my Reminder List, and that's almost maxed out  now too *frustrated*). It's true that pretty much all the manga I get I add to my collection, never reposting, though I get deals on alot of manga at a local resale shop, and I buy alot specificlly For posting here ( I just love y'all that much...and I need the credits.^-^'') and the other site, all get mooched, some in minutes, others within a week.

I'm a manga-holic, and some of my wishlisted ones I have had on there for almost 6 months (On the other site, I haven't been here that long, lol) I Hate the wishlist Line crap here, it is Beyond annoying, I prefer the free for all, first come first serve, way,  but that's only becasue I almost always win those...lol

Anywy, Between the two sites I use, I have turned my 40 manga collection (most I paid full price for, so expensive!) into a nearly 200 manga collection, only completeing a few series'(-_-'). It takes time (almost 9 month for me so far!) and determination (and book credits, lol) but it is totally worth it! <3

Sorry for Babbling.

-Bunny

it *is* first-come, first-served -- whoever WLs a book first will be offered the first copy available. Sounds fair to me. :->

About a third of the manga I've gotten is ex-library, so there is a lot out there.

Huh. I've never seen any manga at FoL sales -- I live in Chicago. Mostly it's hardcovers of bestsellers, and the occasional obscure title that the library's decided nobody's going to want to take out again.
