You have to suspend disbelief when you read Jaid Black's Trek Mi'Qan series. The whole Trek Mi'Qan series is extremely over the top with a razor thin plot plus hilarious dialog even though it's not meant to be funny. This is a universe where the men are nearly 7 feet tall and sometimes even taller. They're huge, very heavily muscled, ultra-macho warriors who are fiercely possessive of their wives. This particular book is about the daughter of the Emperor and his earth-born wife. The heroine is very feisty and more than a match for the warlord who is her spouse. The sex is extremely graphic. It's either m/f or m/f/f but not m/m.

This is a poorly edited paste up with a confusing "plot" line. Not that Mz. Black could ever be mistaken for a literary lion(ess).
Characters' are named within one letter of each other (Kara/Kari). One can't address any kind of plot development, since it is handled by piecing together bits of narrative that may have been discarded from other efforts. Of course, it's quick, fun and diverting. Please don't pay for this! Sometimes it reminded me of a screwball comedy with lots of sex.
