  Consider This…
(a testament of sorts)

However far we dig into the human organism, we have yet to find evidence of a soul…

Perhaps we are digging in the wrong direction.

Or looking in the wrong places when we get there.

Carbon based creatures, all of us…all life on earth,
The soul being the primary difference,
Supposedly,
separating us from all others…

…from the trees
…from the dolphins
…from each other.

Maybe our soul lies hidden in carbon,
Tucked quietly between the atoms, not part of,
Yet intertwined with the quarks and leptons.

Hard evidence may be found in graphite,
After all, it being the most stable form of carbon…

…used to make the lead in pencils.

Which our soul taught us to master.
So evidence of its existence could be found
if not in our cells,

in our words…

often found lingering thoughtfully on paper,
donated by the trees,
which dolphins have little use for.

It caught my attention right away, I had no idea where it was going. I stuck with it, curious. Unpredictable, I liked it. The end a surprise. Hmmm, got me thinking. I liked it.
