Have any of you read the book Conversations with the fat girl by Liza Palmer?

I just recently finished it and thought it was a great book. I was just wondering what any of you thought about it?

I read it a few years ago, but I remember that I enjoyed it.

You know, it's interesting.  I'm a chick lit fan, but I really didn't like this book!  I only made it through the first maybe 100 pages before I got bored and couldn't read it anymore - I was sort of wondering where the book was going.  When I ordered it, I thought maybe it would be an interesting read about the process of one friend losing weight while the other did not, and the ramifications on their friendship, but the book starts out with the first friend already thin and engaged.  So, I guess I expected something out of the book that wasn't there, and when I found that out, I got bored.

I will say that I later read some reviews about this book, and a couple reviewers commented that the last 2/3 rds of the book are far more interesting than the first...so maybe I just didn't stick it out long enough!

yeah it wasn't as light as alot of other chic lit books but I thought it turned out to be a good book. She learns alot about herself and she gains confidence in the end.

I thought it was a very good book.  It was a really quick read for me as well.

I ended up liking it more than I thought I would... It does seem down and drag a little at the beginning.. but once the wedding planning for the friend begins and another big life event for the main character, it picks up and ends very well :)

Yeah the ending was GREAT! I am going through a sorta similar situation with one of my friends so I loved reading the ending.

I just finished this book and really enjoyed it as well. I was a little bored at the beginning and found it to drag a bit. But it definitely picked and gave me quite a few chuckles along the way. I definitely recommend this one!

I just started reading this today. I'm only about 70 pages into it. I like the topic and can relate to it some but I'm not liking this main character much...seems like she does nothing but live in a crazy fantasy world or something..but I'll keep reading to see how it turns out!

Yep! It was slow in the beginning but it definitely got better. The chapter where she gets the massage was hilarious!
