A fascinating look behind the scenes of a professional ballet company as they prepare for a show based on Dickens' "Great Expectations." The choreographer is a friend of the heroine, Juliet Bodine, who writes Regency romance novels under the pen name Angelica Kestrel-Haven. Then a murder occurs, done in a most unusual way (you have to read the book to find out!), and Juliet looks into it, along with NYPD detective Murray Landis. A good read for anyone who likes (somewhat) cozy mysteries, the ballet or New York City--or all three! It's too bad the author discontinued the series after the second book; I would have loved to see what she did with the other Muses!
