Decent, if bland, inspirational romance between two (literally) damaged people. Alyson Anderson (nee Forester) is a concert pianist who supposedly had a nervous breakdown in the middle of a concert and walked off the stage; she hasnt performed since. She returns to her familys home of Dawson, Oklahoma, searching for her grandmother. She also finds Jason Bradshaw, a rodeo champion whos suffering the aftereffects of a concussion after a bull ran him over.

Not much happens in the book, though. Alyson and Jason slowly get to know each other and deal with their respective problems. For Alyson, its wondering if she can ever play the piano again. She is a child prodigy who can play by ear but feels like she was forced onto the stage by her overbearing mother. She also has a sister she never knew about. Jason, meanwhile, wonders if hell ever compete in rodeos again or if his concussion symptoms will force him to retire.

Alyson lacks faith, but Jason found God a while back. Seeing their character development as individuals and as a couple while they are both at crossroads in their lives is basically the plot. Not bad, but Ive read better.
