A tremendous novel which takes the reader back to vanished America

This book is set in the upper Missouri River in 1825. It is not one of the "People Of ..." series, but it is a worthy companion piece. Mr. Gear transports you completely into whatever era he sets his books. He is a wonderful author, and I always await anxiously his newest book.
