Seriously flawed heroine has some major issues to work through with the help of her wannabee Dom. These two keep secrets from each other, which leads to misunderstandings & mistrust. Let that be a lesson to all you lovers out there. And the sex scenes are good.

I loved this book. It was hard to put down. I loved how this book took the reader back in time so that we can see what exactly happened in their past to bring them to where they are. I loved reading about them as young adults and see exactly who they were. They were still finding themselves, but it was great to see that subconsciously they were exactly who they were meant to be, they just didn't know it.

This book was about a young woman, Brynn LeBreck. She grew up in horrible circumstances. Her mother was a prostitute and she was working and going to school to help support her younger sister and to some extent her mother. She tries very hard for people to see her as someone other than the daughter or a whore, and even though she works hard sometimes people can't see past it. Even after her mother is murdered she is still seen to many as the daughter or a whore. It's hard to stomach but it's true.

Then comes a young man, Reid Jamison. He's everything she knows she can never have, even though he persuades her she knows that nothing can ever come of it. He tries so hard as a young man to deny the parts of him he knows other's wont except. He likes to dominate women. He likes for them to give up control in the bedroom and for him to take the lead and give them what they want and what he wants. He tries so hard because of the fact that his father was a rapist and he feel's like he's somehow going to become like him.

But from the moment he meet's Brynn he want's what he thinks is wrong. He tries to be the gentleman he knows she deserves but the moment he kisses he can picture himself handcuffing her arms above her and tasting her from lips to lips. He wants to know if she tastes as good as she smells. He tries to fight the urges but when he finds Brynn more than willing to explore his dark side it's over. He wants her in every way. Everything goes perfectly except for the fact that his parents will never accept her. He goes against them only to get dumped by her.

Almost ten years pass when he happens to start working part time for a non-profit group that Brynn also works for. Now if only he can only get past the need to have her. Unfortunately like doesn't go like you plan. Brynn's sister goes missing and it'll take both Brynn and Jamison together to go undercover at "The Ranch", as Dom/Sub.

It's at The Ranch that Jamison finds out that Brynn was raped the day she broke up with him. It's their he finds out that because he was late to their date she was raped. It's their he finds out that everything he believed was wrong. Brynn also finds out that the man who rapped her was also her mother's murder.

This book was great in so many ways. It had some harsh subjects, but the writer blended it together very well. I read so many books that when a book keeps my attention and leaves me wishing I didn't have to put it down... I have to let everyone know......

First book I've read by this author. If the rest are the same as this one, I won't be reading any more. This story jumped back and forth between present day and 10 years prior, but not effortlessly or even as if it were the characters memories. Just one page you're in the present, the next you are reading from 10 years in their pasts..ugh! I couldn't even finish this one, and that's rare for me. I usually try to plod thru a book when I don't like it, but I just could not do it with this one.
