Cooking Method: Crockpot
Difficulty: 2 / 10
Servings: 4 to 6
Prep Time:
Cook Time:

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg - Mushrooms-sliced
  • 1 can - Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1/2 can - water
  • 1/2 teaspoon - Ground Black Pepper
  • 4 to 6 - Skinless Chicken Breasts
Directions

Mix cream of chicken soup and pepper with water.  Pour into crockpot.  Top with sliced mushrooms and chicken breasts.  Cook on high 4 to 5 hours or on low for 8 hours until tender.

Notes

Check halfway through and if gravy is too thick add a little more water, if too thin whisk in some plain flour.  We enjoy this eaten over rice or mashed potatoes.

Melanie: Did you really mean to put the soup mixture and the mushrooms underneath the chicken? Mine is cooking away right now, but usually in a crock pot recipe, the liquid would go over the chicken. I'm doing it now as you suggested, but hope I'm right! Marian

I tried this with cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken...it was really good! Thanks!

Instead of water use 1 soup can of white wine and Cream of Mushroom soup instead of Cream of Chicken. Great over steamed white rice.

Instead of water, try white wine. Add lots of thickly sliced fresh mushrooms and use Cream of Mushroom soup.
