I feel so empty all the time now.
I turn radios on, room to room, wherever I go.
The house does not fulfill me.
I am a seed needing water to bloom.

I am filled with fears that leave me vulnerable.
I am wounded, and ashamed to be seen bleeding.
I am naked in the streets,
And I close my eyes and pretend I'm not here.

Mornings I am at low ebb,
And I spend my days slowly drifting down.
Phone calls and letters send me tumbling.
My children are all I have left to cling to,
But they are only twigs, and cannot bear the weight.

It is almost March,
and leaves should have
stopped falling months ago.
