This book is about Teddy Roosevelt. No biography. The story is about the man. I liked this book immensely because it is a personal story. Matt Braun is a favorite author. I've read many of his books and count this one as one of his better novels.

An excellent read! Teddy Roosevelt's wife and mother died on the same night in his home in New York City. To outdistance his grief, he turned his back on a promising political career and fled to the badlands. Dakota deals with the restoration of his spirit during this little known time in his life in the midst of a thrilling adventure in the Wild West.
