Of all the books that have been written about the personal relationships of women and what to do about them, this is the most sound. It contains an inspirational message for all women, regardless of their age, background, or life experience.

Another fine book on anger! If you have this issue or someone near you does, this book will help you understand that you don't have to live like this. Pick up every book that you can, they all in their own way will help you conquer this problem.

This book should be required reading for every high school American! It is informative and insightful. The study digs deep into the underbelly of anger and gives practical suggestions on how to properly express oneself in order to avoid resorting to an outburst. It teaches where one's own responsibility lies in communication and interaction with those around us, and clearly outlines the boundaries we can set for ourselves. Very helpful and easy to understand.

This book was, for me, the pivitol information I needed in order to change myself so that I coould begin my journey of self-knowledge on the road to becoming a mentally-healthy, strong, and normal (whatever that is) person. I can't thank Harriet Lerner enough for having written it and I wish her many years of happiness and productivity -- more books!

Not a bad book, but only helpful is someone in particular is making you angry, not the book for someone with general anger issues.

I enjoyed reading this book, which was suggested to me by my counselor. It helped me understand that it is normal and okay to be angry, just voice it the correct way...focusing on YOU instead of what the other person did or didn't do. Realized I am an overfunctioner and this alone will change my life for the better. I would highly recommend this book.

This is the book that started me a wonderful journey of exploring my relationships and making them better. When ever I see a good used copy I buy it, as there is always someone I know I can pass it along to.

From the back cover: Harriet Goldhor Lerner, a psychotherapist at the Menninger Foundation, illuminates the causes and patterns of anger while providing specific strategies for making meaningful and lasting change in important relationships. Basing her conclusions on a decade of clinical investigations and drawing on recent findings from psychoanalytic and family systems theory, she illustrates how, and why, our anger (be it vented through fighting and blaming or silence and emotional distancing) often protects rather than challenges existing relationship dynamics. And she explains the difficulties women have not only in getting angry but also in using their anger to gain a stronger, and more independent, sense of self.

This is a book I recommend a lot. I enjoy the universal way it can speak to anyone, though many see it as focused on women. I found it very meaningful, easy to understand, and eye opening to the circular patterns of behavior in relationships. It is one of those books you can go back and reference again and again.
