This is the memoir of a Red Cross worker based in India during WWII. It gives a glimpse into the work and living conditions of these young women whose job it was to entertain enlisted men off duty and far from home. Serving coffee and doughnuts, playing board games, playing the piano for sing alongs, and just conversing in the Red Cross canteen helped the soldiers' morale. The author is 95 and lives in South Carolina.
