Another good Dick Francis. A little far-fetched and the hero is always beaten-down, but alway arises and triumphs.
A great novel by a great author. It starts with a kidnapping, not of a horse but of a jockey. A beautiful Italian girl daughter of a wealthy father. Covered by an insurance company that covers people at risk (there are such companies) the story follows the rescue.
Excellent, as all of Dick francis books are!
Kidnapping is Andr Douglas's business: They take them he fins them. Dick Francis is super, I miss his books alot.

Another outstanding mystery by the great Dick Francis!
In this fast-paced mystery, Dick Francis mixes the racing industry with kidnapping. His protagonist, Andrew Douglas, works for a company which works with police to negotiate the release of kidnap victims. He stumbles upon a mastermind kidnapper who targets victims in the racing world, recruits local thugs in Italy, England, and the U.S., and always manages to stay one step ahead of the law. This is a good, fast, entertaining read.

Kidnapping is Andrew Douglas's business: they take them, he finds them. But it isn't so simple when Alessia Cenci, golden-girl jockey, disappears, followed by the young child of a derby winner and senior stewart of the Jockey Club. From England, to Italy, to Washington DC, Andrew's caseload is suddenly, violently overflowing...
