Has anyone read this yet?

I'm laid up recuperating from knee surgery and decided to splurge on it even though I hate it when her books come out in hardback.

I wasn't too crazy about it, but would like to hear what others have to say.

I have it on pre-order, but with the long weekend it hasn't arrived yet.  The two main characters were previously in Dark Celebration and the heroine was introduced in the book before that.  If his character is anything like that of his brother (Raphael?) in one of the earlier novels, I suspect I won't like it either.  That was my least favorite of the series.

Write back after you've read it. I'd be interested to hear what you think. Sounds like you and I are on the same wavelength. The previous story from this branch (Dark Hunger with Rafael & Colby) was one of my least favorites as well.

I will have to agree with you girls.  These brothers aren't my favorite either!!  I really liked the first books and then I started to dislike the others that followed them.  I don't know why I get them!!

I have started to read this and it's a little off the wall---------trust me.  I had to quit for a while as I have something else that I want to read first.   It has the sister and cousin of Juliette.  Remember her?  They are still traumatised with men and distrustful of them.   I have a problem with weak women, so this could be just my own little quirck.

I still love the Drake Sisters & wish she would do more Leopard series.

Hope your knee is feeling better Jo.

I thought this one was the worst ever.  I'm sorry I wasted my money on it.

I wasn't crazy about it, but I still like it better than Dark Hunger.

******SPOILER BELOW*******

I think she should have developed the heroine better, but she was much stronger than doormat Colby in DH.  For some reason this just seemed like it had too many different things going on - and doing justice to none of them.  Between semi-death, shadowlands & creepy shadowlands inhabitants, two completely different kinds of  jaguar problems, intro of new species & consequent new kind of carpathian... It seemed almost like an anthology rather than a novel.  I think it would have been more cohesive if all of the shadowlands stuff had been left for another book, and some other conflict plot line added.

Now that you say that, I realize that it was like one reeeallly long spooky trailer, like the video trailers she does for the books with all kinds of shadows and strange camera angles and hidden meaning.
