I was drawn to this book by the subject matter and morale dilemma of a high school principal having a teen-aged daughter who gets pregnant - on purpose no less! I would consider this a "good" book, but there was not enough happening in it to be really riveting. It kind of dragged for me in the middle when it kept going around and around who was supportive, who was pointing fingers, etc. It was very interesting to see how far stretching of an effect the teenage pregnancies had and what long-term outcomes came of the girl's irrational behavior. In the end, it wrapped up nicely and I had tears in my eyes. I would recommend this book - I'm just not raving about it.

The book wasn't at all what I expected. It focused primarily on the parents and their reactions and why it was such a big "problem" for them. When I began to read this book, I thought it would be more focused on the girls themselves and their emotions and reasoning behind wanting to get pregnant. The prose was at times long, irrelevant, and boring but overall it was an easy read and somewhat entertaining.

Since I have a teenage daughter, this book was a very relevant read and reminded me to keep tabs and keep communication open between us.

I have a daughter who was pregnant at 18 and this book brought back so many memories and feelings that it was very emotional for me. The different reactions of each of the parents helped me to put into perspective some feelings that I have been struggling with for years. I"m looking forward to trying some other books by this author.

Preachy and boring. A group of high school girls get stupid and decide to all get pregnant while in HS. The blow off college, and have no plans for paying for the babies other than living at home. The parents all gossip and wring their hands instead of dragging their daughters down to the clinic to take care of the problem.

Preachy and boring. By the end, I just didn't care anymore about the characters.

First let me say i do not have a teenaged daughter, but i now have grown sons. So i can somewhat put myself in this mothers place. I have one word for my feelings about this novel's plot..."Horrified". I felt for this mother. I know that i am "old school" in alot of things, but this line of reasoning is just plain, for lack of a better word, "stupid". Getting pregnant as a pact? Is anyone really this heartless to bring a child into the world, at any age without thinking about how it will be fed, loved and taken care of until adulthood? Would a teen so young make the decision of jumping off a high bridge everyday for the next 18 years and taking their chances for survival, come as easily? I wonder about what goes thru their minds. I know this novel is fiction but it is based on events that have happened. I found it riveting in how Ms Delinsky brought forth this matter. I enjoyed the read. There is so many subjects that make this world go round, many are shocking, but all have to be dealt with. This book also held love, caring and lots of good writing.

I first heard about this story on Lifetime. What an interesting premise. Three teenaged girls have a pregnancy pact which stretches the ties of mother - daughter relationships and brings about love and forgiveness.

Excellent light reading dealing with failed expectations--what to do when a brillant teen and her friends PLAN on having babies their senior year--and go through with it? I appreciated how the author takes us into the parents and daughter's thoughts, and brings out the richness of each heart.

Not what I expected from Barbara Delinsky, but the book was good, I think it took me three days to read it!
