My review on The Daughters of Lancaster County The bestselling series that Inspired the musical STOLEN
The story begins with Naomi changing Zach's diaper while her mother went to get the mail. All sudden her sister came run in the house to tell Naomi that her mother was just hit by a car when checking the mail. Naomi was in shock at first then she took of run to her mom side. The man in the car said that mail had blowing across the road and that her mother went after it by the time he could stop it was to late. He told her daughter that he had call for help and that they were on the way. Naomi went to be by her mother side and told her to hang on that help was coming. Her mother ask Naomi to make a promise to take care of Zach and her sister and be there for dad. Naomi told her that she was going to be fine that help was come she could hear the sirens come up the road her mother ask her please promise me ok mom I will promise you that I will take care of the family. Naomi missed her mother so much seen she be going but she need to get up and get the kids ready for school and fix breakfast for the family before she went to the store to help her dad. Naomi was getting tired after working all day in the store with her dad and taken care of Zach she still had to put supper on the table and made sure the kids had there bath for bed. One day out side of the store while eating her lunch why the the baby was sleep and not that many people in the store a friend of hers Caleb Hoffmeir come over to talk to her for a min and to ask to go the singing with him and he could tell how tired she was by looking in to her eyes. Naomi really wanted to go with Caleb to the singing but she told him her father would say no. Caleb said he was going to ask anyway I will be right back he told her. He went in to the store to speak to Abraham to ask if he could take Naomi to the singing. Abraham said that seen her mother death thing have been tight around the house and she is need the to take care of the kids. Caleb went out side to tell Naomi what her father had side and the look in Naomi eyes she new what her father had said. Naomi told Caleb that to just ask some one else to take to the singing he told Naomi that he wasn't going to do that but try tell him as long as she take care of the kids and run the store and the house to she didn't have the time and that she was sorry. One day it was nice out side so Naomi took Zach out side for a little bite they were seating at the picnic table a English man pulled in to the drive way and ask about some root beer she said that they had some he ask if it was cold she told him no. She said that they might some in the house he ask her if he could have some of that. Then right about she hear her sister screaming from the house Naomi went run in to find out what happened in the mean time Zach is still seating on the picnic table with the english man seating across from him. The man was afraid that the baby would fall of the table so he pick him up and held Zach. He was just remember that him and his wife came all the to Lancaster to adopt a child but the mother decided to keep him. Jim the english man didn't want to disappoint his wife so he took the Zach and run to the car and put him the car seat. Naomi was still in the house to find out what had happened. When she got there her sister was standing in a big mess of peaches and broken glass. Naomi saw her sister Mary Ann"s hand was wrapped and blood was come through she told Mary Ann to come with to take car of her hand and she sent Nancy out side with a glass of cold root beer for the english man. Nancy return in a couple of min and told her sister there was no one there.Naomi went out side to get her little brother and could not find him any were. They called for the police to help find him. They ask Naomi what was the man driving and he was wearing. She said he was in a white van and she couldn't remember what he was wearing. To find out what happen to Zach. I recommend read the book it is really good and hard to put down. I give this book a 5 stars it was that good.
