Dirk Yeller is an outlaw who comes to town for a cure. He goes from person to person asking for a way to stop being so jumpy. He puts it in various ways. Finally, the boy that has followed him around the town takes him to the library. The librarian gives Dirk Yeller a book and the boy helps him read it. The outlaw is still as he reads. He leaves, promising to come back for more books. On the back page, there's a wedding announcement between Dirk Yeller and the librarian.

Why I recommend it: There's good repetition without it getting boring. The librarian isn't portrayed as an older woman with a bun going 'shh', but a young, thin, calm woman.
