The second entry in the Louis Kinkead series. When Louis lands a job on a small police force in Michigan, he begins investigating why police officers are being murdered. Could he be the next casualty?

I thought this one was excellent and it drew me in immediately. Very well done.

The main character is a black police officer and he ran into some problems due to race in the first book. Decided to give the second a chance and see if this was another pandering about race or could the author put that aside and write a good story. He wrote an excellent story. It kept me going right until the end. Kincaid ends up in the middle of a cover-up and digs until he finds the truth. Sometimes I wondered if he was causing more problems by getting involved, but it seems to have worked out for the best. Once again, however, he must move on. I do dislike that he always gets the short end of the stick in the end. At some point, that has to stop. I will read the next one. Meanwhile, this definitely made me a fan.

This was the first one by Parrish that I've read, and I enjoyed it. I will look for more with his characters in the future.

This is my first PJ Parrish book, and I thought it was very well written and I am certainly looking forward to my second.
