If you have teens who enjoyed the Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew series, they will love ALL of the mystery novels by Joan Lowery Nixon (I admit to reading them all myself when wanting a great mystery I can finish in just a couple of hours).

OK, I'm an adult, so this is a little biased.

Basic plot: four teens are stranded in a rainstorm and take refuge in a stranger's house. When the stranger starts messing with them, the kids try to figure out why.

My likes: quick pace, lots of suspense, believable teenage characters.

My dislikes: plot holes, unresolved character development, and at the end, after the "mystery" has been solved, the kids want the perpetrator arrested. Uh...kids? You just basically invited yourself into a person's house, rummaged through his drawers and kitchen, made yourselves at home, and because he scared you a little you want him arrested? REALLY? I have major issues with this. And it was pretty convenient that one of the teens just happened to know about magic...

All in all, if you're 14 or so, you'd like it. If you're a grown-up, skip it.
