From the back cover:
In 1982, Kathie Durst's disappearance made front page headlines.
The young medical student was married to Robert Durst, reclusive son of a New Youk real estate magnate. When she vanished, Kathie's friends pointed the finger at her husband. They told police that Kathie lived in terror of Robert-and that she had uncovered incriminating financial evidence about him. But Durst's secrets went even deper-and deadlier-than that.

For nearly 20 years, her disappearance remained a mystery.
In 2001, a drifter was arrested for shoplifting in Pennsylvania. He was Robert Durst-heir to an empire valued at 2 billion dollars-in disguise and subsequently indicted for the grisly dismemberment of an elderly neighbor in Texas. What transpired between Kathie's disappearance and the routine arrest was a 19 year, cross-country mystery of stolen IDs and multiple identities that raised some baffling questions about one of the country's most prominent men-and finally answered questions for a family who had fought for so long for closure and justice

This is a story of justice that was a result of an arrogant criminals' stupidity. A missing woman - her wealthy (but odd) husband from a powerful family - and missteps in the case add up to a frustrating search over many years. A couple of murders later and a cross country saga ends with his capture for stealing band-aids. This is an interesting story that is unfortunatly too common (Scott Peterson, etc) but also kept alive for 20 years by her girlfriends who knew that things were not as they seemed.
