Does anyone know if she will be putting out another Deadly book? I have been combing her website for a year looking for some hint about the next book. I am dying to find out what happens to Francesca and Calder!!!!

I think they should turn the Deadly Series into a Movie or TV series.

I'm not familiar with this author but must be good to be so eagerly waiting! :-)

I am waiting too.  But from what I understand, it may be a while due to the fact that she changed publishers and apparently they want Ms. Joyce to concentrate on other things rather than the "Deadly" series.  Waaaaah   :-(   However, I did drop her a brief note about it and will post here if/when I get a reply.   :-)

I'm also anxious to read the next installment.

Susanna - the Deadly Series has 8 books so far, with the last published in February 2006.  The author, Brenda Joyce, had been writing 1 to 2 books per year in the series, but said at that point she was taking time to work on other story lines. She said she'd get back to the series eventually, but there's been no news recently.

The story is based around a heroine named "Francis Cahill" and is set in New York in about 1910. Francis is a high-society daughter and amateur "sleuth".  So each book is about the latest mystery - usually a murder - plus a lot of secondary storylines and continuing drama in the lives of those close to her.

I got started on the series just lately and have read all 8 in the last few weeks. It's written almost like a modern TV show, with a definite plot that ends each week, but ongoing storylines and consistent main characters. So each book ends with the mystery solved, but there are minor cliff hangers in the characters' personal lives.

They are a bit shallow, but still an enjoyable read. I find myself more interested in the secondary story lines than her main mystery. You definitely have to suspend belief and read it for pure fun, rather like the old Nancy Drew books.

By the way, if you have any interest in acquiring the books - PM me. I have books 1-8 although I haven't bothered to list them. I'd be happy to make you a great deal if I could get rid of them all at once.

I am crazy at the series and I totally agree its not the murders/mystery that is as exciting as the character plots. I think they should sell the rights to Hollywood for a TV series or Movie Deal. The characters have great depth and the sexuality is amazing without being as explicit as some of the other tales. How do I put this...Francesca remains sexually untouched despite the incredible chemistry between her and Calder. Calder Hart just exudes sexuality. I hope I didn't just embarrass myself. :-) I highly recommend it.

I have the last two books if anyone is interested.
