Katie Osborne meets Shannon Lindstrom on her first day of school. The girls hit it off immediately and plan to meet that same afternoon. Only Shannon never shows. The next day, Katie learns her friend has been kidnapped! The Katie is struck by a mysterious hit-and-run driver.
