In this engagingly unorthodox love story, Hassler once again demonstrates the fine, old fashioned gifts of solid storytelling, skillful character portrayal, and uinvarnished good writing that have won him a loyal following.

This book was made into a wonderful TV movie starring Angela Landsbury. BUT the BOOK is much BETTER then the movie. Then end of Miss Agatha McGee lifelong teaching career at ST. Isidore's Elementary brings her to a new stage of life. Written with humor, the reality and sensitivity of growing older this is a must read book.

This is my first Jon Hassler book and it won't be my last. He's a wonderful writer who deserves more attention than he has received. The story is feel-good without being sappy, full of humor and human nature, believable. Handles adult subjects in a modern way without being objectionable. Don't pass it up!

A steady main character, you just know everything will turn out fine.
A good book to read if you just want an easy, well written story that is most enjoyable.
Thanks Jon Hassler for this series!
