A solid police procedural and quite well written. Late one night, a drunk goes to the police to report a body taking his particular spot for sleeping and wants him moved. When they go to investigate, the copper sees nothing, figuring that the man who reported it was simply mistaken as he is a known drunkard. A few days later a report is made by a wife that her husband has gone missing. So once more the area is searched and lo, a new grave has signs of activity which lead to finding our missing husband. How did he end up here? And in a new grave? What about the report from the drunkard claiming to have seen him earlier? Lots of questions and all amid a strange scientific household.

Mr. Ross writes well and I found it captivating at times. A missing body showing up and yet no one is actually upset or seems to care. Just want to keep the status quo. Try it for yourself if you like Police Procedurals set in England. It won't disappoint!
