I understand that the author feels deeply about the subject, and has good ideas that could be applied ... in theory only. I grew up in said communism system his father did. And I married into Middle East. I know both systems intimately. Though they are both dictatorships, that work on suppression of ideas and independent thoughts, that is where the similarity ends. To use analogy: You can't apply one screwdriver to unscrew all screws... I think he misses the point completely, and is blissfully unaware. He should be commended on raising awareness of the issue in the times where everyone is so self absorbed, or is too afraid to speak out, as not to offend anyone and get canceled (or end up in jail for being racist, homophobic, islamophobic... and all other king of phobic... But this book is in part memoir, and in part wishful thinking. It is full of great, outdated ideas used in different era, against different enemy, no factual information, no supporting documents.
