While I have an interest in this series, it's been quite some time between reading the last book and this one. It is probably because I have to wade through them, as the author is very wordy and adds a lot of filler. For example, in this one he uses pages to describe placing new tubes into ship engines, describing what is good about the new tubes and what is wrong with the old ones. And he does this with a human and Lemurian discussing the situation with the Lemurian lapsing into half-legible speech you have to concentrate on to understand. So I skipped most of that section and several others. I almost wonder if the author is being paid by the word.

And, of course, lots of good and bad guys get killed off and you wonder of there are any of the USS Walker's original human crew still left. In fact, at the rate the author kills off people and Grik, you wonder if anything is left alive besides the deadly flasher fish in the sea.

I am just hoping the author finishes this series in a few more books, or I'll exceed my tolerance and stop reading. Thankfully, I got this copy from my country library.
