This is a fast-moving crime novel set in the south. It is a good debut novel for this author. I liked it.
Keller's life during this novel is almost non-stop chases, fights, or cat and mouse moves. The danger is very real, and the antagonists are mean. So's Keller, but he's still got enough humanity in him to make him sympathetic. Although his conflicted love life element of this story initially seemed to get in the way of the rest, it became apparent early on why it was important. In fact, it's part of why I say Keller is mean, but human. Read the book and you'll see.
