A Dictionary of Mutual Understanding by Jackie Copleton sets a story of complex relationships within the larger context of Pikadon - the atomic bomb in Japan. The book is slow to start, but I find myself more and more involved the further I get. Part of me questions the relationships and connections as they are revealed, but part of me is carried along with the emotions. I put logic aside and let emotions carry the day in this haunting debut.
