This book was about Miss Harmony Barrett, a woman who the ton believe is odd. She's been attending the season's for five years and has yet to land a husband. During one house party she meet's the Duke of Courtland. From first glance he seems larger than life. Even the whispers behind fan's about his perverted pursuits can't change the fact that his darkly hansom good looks attract her. From the start it seems Harmony's bad luck is just another factor in what keeps the party entertained. First the Duke finds her in the library on the floor behind the desk reading. She believes he'll tell everyone, but he doesn't.

She's relieved, but it seems her luck doesn't change and the Duke can't help but become intrigued with her. Suddenly her determination for history finds her on the road walking and while he tries to take her back to keep her reputation intact she will not leave. He finds himself escorting her to a historical site and upon their return he finds himself suddenly forced into marrying her. Not that he feels forced. She's intrigued him enough to want to marry her and try for a real matrimony.
