The Cats in the Doll Shop - Doll Shop, Bk 2 is posted hardcover on my bookshelf too. A Husband and wife Russian Jews come to new York City and work as their craft as doll-makers. and repair people's broken dolls.They have 3 daughters : Sophie, Anna and Trudy.They live in an apartment upstairs and .their business the doll shop is downstairs on the main floor. In 1917, the US goes to war with Germany and the doll-makers can no longer get repair parts from Germany so they which to making dolls, a fairy, a nurse and a princess which they sell new to FAO Swartz. The 3 girls get to keep old broken dolls customers abandoned.This is based on a true story.
