This seems to me like a trilogy that got out of hand. I read it all within a week, so am not likely to have forgotten details between one book and the next, but by the time I reached books 5 and 6, I was very tired of the nagging computer and had lost track of who had lied to who in which direction. Also, several alien cultures are introduced, some by name only, with no description, and others apparently put in so the hero and his dragon can be marooned among these poorly described beings with inadequately outlined cultures. Quite a few pages at the end are devoted to sorting out all the conniving and deceit, but by that point, I didn't much care. It's a pity, as I liked Book 1 in the series very much.

A very satisfactory ending to the Dragonback series. Lots of action and drama and a very politically reasonable ending. I would so use this series as a gateway to Zahn's adult scifi for children I'd like to hook :-) So good.
