I read a lot of books that I enjoy and then promptly forget; it takes something special to take up residency in my long term memory and keep me thinking about it long after the book is done. Dream House is one of those book for me. I picked it thinking it was a ghost story, and it is, but not the kind was expecting. This book deals with those ghosts we all live with: the shoulda, woulda, coulda's of life. It deals with the dysfunction that haunts most families. I loved the characters because they are so flawed. I loved how Laken made me feel, as the reader, that I was all-knowing, and then deftly pulled the rug out from under me. I highly recommend this book.

I'm sorry I was really pleased with the book & it's story, but once again horrible language. The C word, the mf word & more. It just ruins it for me. They should start rating books like they do movies. Otherwise the story was great & character's well defined. You can't wait to read the end.I will be posting it the beginning of the new year. It's out on loan to a few friends. I do believe its worth waiting for.
