This is a thoughtful and thought provoking conclusion to Michael Phillips' American Dreams series. My husband and I had some great discussions while reading these books. He has an advanced degree in History, and was not only comfortable but also impressed by their historical accuracy. Mr. Phillips' books are much deeper than most Christian and inspirational novels I have read. The characters continue to grow in faith through daily trials, large and small, similar to those we all experience in our own lives today. I would suggest any of his novels to anyone wondering how to maintain a Christain perspective and lifestyle while facing the challenges of living in our world. Young women will love the Shenandoah Sisters, the Carolina Cousins, and, of course, Corrie Belle Hollister. Adults will be enthralled by the Heathersleigh series. And everyone who reads American Dreams will come away with not only a better understanding of what happened to Anerica during the Civil War, but a much richer understanding of God's Word.
