Although this book was written 25 years ago, it is still a great book. All of the rules for selecting classic fashion still apply today including investment buying, quality, personal grooming and more. For example, I bought this book in my early 20s when I just starting a corporate career. It helped me so much in planning a wardrobe that could be used for work and play. One of the sections that really stuck with me talked about always taking care of your hands because many people notice those first. If they are well cared for then that indicates upper class; whereas on the other hand, poorly cared for hands indicate lower class. Hence I have always conditioned and manicured my hands and never bite my nails! Lots of lessons to be learned here :)

I loved this book when first came out in the mid-eighties and am ecstatic to see this new reprint. It's one fashion book that should be in print forever since the information it offers is timeless. It's got a really original and interesting take on what makes for an elite monied look, and then goes on to tell you just how to achieve that look for yourself, even without a trust fund backing you up. It's also great fun to read. You have to admire Feldon (admittedly one of my favorite fashion authors) for writing a style book almost 17 years ago that is is still relevant and right on target today. I highly reccommend it!
