LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! Jacquelyn Frank has the ability to write about worlds that defy imagination. Each of her books has brought us to a world so exotic and layered with characters and descriptions, I am awed. I was a little confused at first, but only for the first few pages. The story drops right into the action and runs aways with your full attention for almost 400 pages. Reule and Mystique are fascinating characters as is the world in which they live. Their love story is passionate and sweet all at the same time. But Frank didn't just leave it at the main couple. There are so many other characters circling this couple, and each one has their own story, their own passions, their own dramas, and their own dreams. I love everyone one of them. I only hope Frank writes a few stories about the others in Reule and Mystique's Pack. I think it will be a fascinating world to read about for a series.

When I began reading this genre, Jacquelyn Frank is one of the first authors whose books I became interested in. She is realatively new to the genre, and I have since read all of her books. Each one being better and more improved than the last. This is definitely one of her best thus far. Good storyline and keeps the readers interest(at least my interest) thru the entire book. Her style flows easily and doesn't jump back and forth so much that the readeris lost along the way. She may not be J.R. Ward yet but is defintely carving out her own niche.

Good book, liked the setting part historical romance part paranormal. It did take me a little while to get into it but, once I did it was hard to put down!

An interesting combination of paranormal, historical, and fantasy. Set in an alternate world, people ride horses for transportation, the women wear corsets and gowns, yet they have electricity and indoor plumbing. This species, the Sange, have special psychic capabilities and also bite each other at the height of passion. There are other species in this world but you don't learn much about them except that few of them will interact with the Sange because of the blood sucking.

Having read a couple other Jacquelyn Frank books, I was uncertain about this one. The others (Jacob & Gideon) were so poorly edited and filled with terrible grammar and malapropisms they were nearly impossible to read. This book was a happy surprise with none of the garbage found in those other books.

The romance was established fairly quickly into the book but built slowly. It was a bit difficult at the start to understand where we are in space and time but once you realize you are in another world, things gel. The mythology Frank creates is interesting and a good start to a new series. She also introduces other characters whom I presume will have their own books eventually.

Sensuality is steamy.

3 stars.

While this was an interesting take on the vampire genre I'm concerned that none of you know what erotica is, for those that classified this as such, and if this is what you consider erotica you should never read anything on my read list. This book was VANILLA it didn't even come close to any bit of steam. It had the potential but it never quite rose to the occasion.

While the characters were interesting the ending fell flat. There was all this build up and then it just felt rushed. The author also glossed over Mystique's event, which almost made it seem like she had to put something in to finish this and meet a deadline. Just didn't like how things ended.
