The DriveIn A DoubleFeature Omnibus Author:Joe R. Lansdale Imagine a jam-packed drive-in on a Saturday night. You're kicking back in your car with the popcorn and enjoying a good old-fashioned scary monster movie when, suddenly, the drive-in itself becomes the movie, with all its attendant thrills -- and dangers.
I am one of Lansdale's fans on his Hap series. I did read THE DRIVE-IN all the way thru; it was sort of like an inability to turn away from viewing an auto accident in progress.
It did have a faint flavor of Hunter Thompson's FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, just because DRIVE-IN was just so damned weird.
For me, imminently forgettable.
