Another good story from one of the recognized greats in children's writing. Children only? Nope - Garfield is enjoyed by all ages. In this book an drummer boy winds up the only one alive in his regiment after a battle of the American Revolution. Life gets horribly tough and a letter on an enemy soldier leads him into quite strange areas. Full of adventure, very thought provoking.
