This book is extremely compelling on the subject of Apartheid. Andre Brink shows the struggles that Ben du Toit goes through on his quest to find justice for the mysterious deaths of his close friend and his friends son. The gov't slowly takes everything Ben has; his feeling of security, his honor, and eventually his family. Ben's quest for the truth uncovers lies, corruption and murder.
