I've done this method with pumpkin pie. There are a lot of different recipes for Pumpkin Pie (Dump) Cake...but boy is it YUMMO!! Beware...make sure you like the yellow cake mix brand...some are so artificially overflavored, it takes over. I think Duncan Hines was the culprit I'm remembering. I stick to a plain betty crocker cake mix without "pudding" in the mix.

I used to make this for my office. They LOVED it!!! It would be gone within minutes. I used to make it while I was getting ready in the morning, then wrap it in tin foil and bring it in HOT on a towel. The smell would fill the office. I worked in a very large building and people would follow the smell to our group. It's great and very easy to make.

I also sprinkle a cup of coconut over it before the nuts. Also you can melt the butter and pour over top instead of slicing the butter.
