Can anyone give me some information on how the linked signature lines are supposed to work?  I read the instructions, saved it to my hard drive and it is appearing as a link on the bottom of my e-mails.

However, when you click on the link, it is NOT automatically "linked" with my account so I would get the credit for my friends signing up.

What am I missing?

Hmmm...not sure exactly what you are asking.  To add a signature line, you go into your account, go to settings, scroll down and add it to the appropriate area.  Sounds like that's working okay for you.  This is different than the referral process for your friends, if I get what you are asking.

The instructions say  "Copy the supplied code into your email signature line. When someone clicks on the link and joins, your account will be linked to them as the referrer."

I had my friend try to sign up by clicking on the link in the e-mail I sent her, and no where did in indicate that my account would be credited.

I just wondered if when I copied the supplied code into my signature line, if I had to add my login name or something??

Seems like I must be doing something wrong . . .

I believe you are talking about adding a line to your email signature (that you regularly use and has nothing to do with PBS) which advertises PBS to anyone you email -- and if they click on the link in your email signature and sign up with PBS, you should be listed as referring them, and (after they list their first 9 books) get a referral credit...

Right?

I know nothing about it(!) but wanted to make sure I understood your question.

By the way, I got my first two referrals without even knowing about it. I was checking around my account and suddenly found I had had two people in the same day list me as referrer when they signed up... If you want to check go to "my account" and look for a link to "my referrals". You don't actually get the credit until they list 9 books (and get their free credits).

Kalualani & Lisa, she was asking about the "spead the word" feature under the Community tab at the top.
